The circular economy offers a more sustainable way of production and consumption and has the potential to ensure sustainable economic development, minimising environmental impact and maximising social impact. The circular economy is focused on reducing, reusing and recycling materials. However, the transition from linear to circular economy is not straight-forward. There are still numerous challenges that limit the adoption of circular models. Collaboration between private and public sectors, between foundations and companies, including competitors, is essential.
