Gilles Vermot Desroches joined Schneider Electric in 1998. He has been Director of Sustainable Development since 2000.
After his experience as president of an NGO and as a consultant within the cabinet of the Ministry of Urban and Territory Planning in France, Gilles joined Schneider with the primary mission of creating and developing the Schneider Electric Foundation, under the umbrella of “Fondation de France”.
Three years later, Gilles took the direction of the Global Sustainable Development department. This role consisted in the definition and deployment of the environmental, ethical, and social policies of the company. He is also in charge of the ‘Access to Energy’ program.
Gilles is President of “100 Chances, 100 Emplois” since 2014, Vice-President of the French Forum of Friends of the Global Pact, and member of the National Council of Sustainable Development and Energy Transition since 2012. Furthermore, he is Vice-President of the Global Compact France and Vice-President of the Energy & Environment Commission of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) since 2014.
